1. Samaritan’s Purse consults with physicians in developing nations – many of whom use diagnostic equipment we donated – to find likely candidates
2. We locate hospitals and physicians in North America who are willing to donate their time and services
3. Through the generous gifts of individuals in the United States and Canada, Samaritan’s Purse provides round-trip transportation for the patient, one parent, and an interpreter and arranges lodging for the group in the homes of Christian host families
Hope for a New Life
In countries ravaged by war, natural disaster, or dire poverty, even the most basic medical care is often unavailable. The lack of health facilities and equipment is especially critical for thousands of children suffering from life-threatening congenital heart defects.
In 1997, Samaritan’s Purse started the Children’s Heart Project to help mend these “broken hearts” while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. By bringing boys and girls with heart defects to North America, we can offer them hope for a new life through cardiac surgery.
We have brought hundreds of boys and girls to the United States and Canada for treatment that is unavailable in their homelands. More than 50 hospitals have assisted us in helping children from such places as Honduras, Kosovo, Mongolia, and Uganda.
How you can help?
Pray:
- that God will move in the hearts of the children and families we reach so that they would come to faith in Jesus Christ.
- that God will provide the resources needed for this project, including hospitals and physicians willing to donate their services.
Give:
God can use your gifts to touch the lives of children with His love and healing. Your support can help us bring children still awaiting treatment to North America for life-saving care. Please visit our Donation Page.
