Ministry Highlights & Financial Report

Dear Friend,

Although 2008 was a difficult year for the financial world, there was no slowdown in God’s economy. As Samaritan’s Purse reached out to millions of lost and suffering people in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord blessed us with sufficient resources and opened doors for us to work in places that have been closed to the Gospel.

Praise God that in the midst of a recession, Operation Christmas Child collected the most gift-filled shoe boxes in its history. The Children’s Heart Project cared for more patients than ever before. Samaritan’s Purse built more churches in Sudan than in the previous two years combined. As God’s Word says, “Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to Your Name be the glory, because of Your love and faithfulness” (Psalm 115:1, NIV).

Our goal in this report is to share how God continues to transform the lives of men, women, and children around the globe as we proclaim His Gospel, the matchless message of eternal salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. With the prayers and support of caring friends like you, we have been able to “declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples” (Psalm 96:3, NIV).

When times are tough and people are hurting, it’s our responsibility as Christians to share with them the reason for the hope we have. Rather than dwelling on the problems of this dying world, let’s press forward, as God leads.

Remember the Scripture that guided Samaritan’s Purse founder Dr. Bob Pierce: “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things
which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13b-14, KJV).

Every day at Samaritan’s Purse, we see how God answers the prayers and multiplies the gifts of His people. We thank you for your faithfulness and generosity, and we strive to be good stewards of all that is given. May God richly bless you as you serve Him.
