I was so glad to be able to participate in the OCC Distribution Trip. I believe everyone who has ever prepared a gift box would very much like to go in person to share the children’s pleasure. So I decided to join this trip. The whole journey was really full of grace and joy. During the trip, we went to 4 locations and met about 600 kids and we shared their enjoyment of receiving our gifts.

Although we had to travel for at least 1.5 hours to the suburbs for distribution, the children were all gathered in the churches long before our arrival waiting for us. On their faces, I could see that they were excited with expectations. In each church we told them the meaning of the gift boxes and how children in Hong Kong had prepared the gift boxes wholeheartedly and prayed for them from afar so that they could understand the love of Jesus for them. Then we would play games and sang hymns with them, and they would also perform some songs for us. Our souls were continuously touched by their pleasant singing, and our hearts were filled with unspeakable joy because of their radiant smiles. I think that is what the teaching “it is more blessed to give than to receive” meant.

For a great many kids, if you realize that it was their first time they had received a gift, the first time they had met outsiders, the first time they had been to church, the first time they had prayed and the first time they had had someone tell them that Jesus loves them, you will understand how heartening it would be to be able to take part in it. When you see how satisfied and joyful they were to receive a gift box, you will understand why it is the most beautiful picture in the world. When you see how they could scarcely wait to unpack their gifts, you will be able to feel the energy of life. When you see how jubilant they were to get their favorite gifts, you will be able to hear the singing of the angels and army in heaven.

I believe everyone who participated in this distribution trip had shared the same excitement with the local children.
